In my experience working with chiropractors, acupuncturists and personal trainers over the years, I have observed how massage can help to address the muscular component which was often not addressed in other offices. Working with and observing Dr. DelFavero and the other doctors at 1st Choice, I’ve learned how what I do can actually compliment the muscle and fascial work the doctors do in their treatment sessions. While the doctors work on a specific area of weakness or fascial restriction, in my sessions I get to address many of the surrounding muscles that stabilize and support the tissue being addressed or others that may be compensating due to your current issue.
A few examples:
- For Neck, Shoulder & Mid back tension and pain – A massage session can include soft tissue therapy for neck, chest , upper back, rotator cuff, and arm muscles. For example when the rhomboids are involved it can be very helpful to address the pectoral area.
- For Low Back Pain – a session can include focused massage therapy on the gluts, quads, hamstrings, adductor, abductor, lower leg, and abdominal muscles. If you’ve been doing a lot of abdominal work, chances are the hip flexors are overworked and could use some attention.
