Dominique Runs and Wins – Thanks Dr. Stolz

On December 7th, 2013, my daughter Dominique participated in her first indoor track meet. Right out of the blocks of her second event, she pulled up and went down. She’d torn her quad in two places. She was told that her indoor season was over and probably her outdoor season as well.

After eight weeks of PT, she was still experiencing pain when she increased intensity.

Dominique continued practicing through the pain but became overwhelmed by her leg, her coaches, doctors, therapists, and me, she nearly quit the track team.

I didn’t know what to do, so I began to look online for solutions and discovered 1st Choice Sports Rehab. When I called, they listened and matched my daughter with Dr. Sasha Stolz, a Sports Chiropractor, female athlete, and competitor herself. They couldn’t have been more right! She listened and never tried to dissuade Dominique from competing; she understood that Dominique wanted to compete at the state championship and was willing to do whatever it would take to make that happen.

With only two weeks left before the first qualifying meet, Dr. Stolz was supportive and honest. She told my daughter that she would try to get her to a point where she could still compete, but that complete healing she wouldn’t be possible until she took some time off. That was exactly what Dominique needed to hear.

Not only did Dominique compete, but she excelled! She won 1st place in the 100m hurdles at the regional qualifier and 2nd place by .001 at the GA State Championships! None of this would have been possible without Dr. Stolz and the team at 1st Choice. Dr. Stolz helped my daughter regain her confidence and her speed and I am eternally grateful. Thank you Dr. Stolz and the whole team at 1st Choice for making Dominique’s dream possible!
