Atlanta Sports Chiropractors Lend Their Hands for Fiesta 5k/15k

Fiesta RunThe sports chiropractors from 1st Choice Sports Rehab turned out to assist the participants of the Fiesta 5k/15k on April 30th. “Supporting the athletes in our community has always been a huge part of what we do as a company”, says Dr. Niklaus DelFavero, owner of 1st Choice Sports Rehab in Decatur and Johns Creek.

“We help promote events in our office and on our website, we give away race entries, offer treatment for participants on-site the day of the events, and of course offer treatment in our offices for those who might suffer injury while training or during an event.”

“Our athletes often ask if we will be at this or that event, and we try to attend as many as we are able.”  “We feel these extras are just a natural extension of our practice and we enjoy the interaction with our athletes where they compete.”

*** The Fiesta 5k/15k is a Cure for ALS event. Cure for ALS events benefit the Emory ALS Center in Atlanta, GA, one of the premier research and clinical centers for ALS in the United States.  100% of the proceeds of the FIESTA 5k/15k & Fun Run are donated to the Emory ALS Center to advance research to discover the cause, treatments, and eventual cure for ALS.

Emory ALS Center is one of the largest clinical centers for ALS in the United States. The Center provides true multidisciplinary care for patients and families with ALS and related disorders. The team of neurologists, neurosurgeons, nurses, therapists, and dietitians care for both the physical and emotional needs of our patients and their families.

Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) can strike anyone; in fact it happens to 15 people each day in the U.S. The average life expectancy is only 2-5 years from the time of diagnosis. ALS slowly takes away the ability to move, speak, swallow, and ultimately breathe. There is no cure so there are no survivors to tell their stories.
